Two people are dead following a pair of deadly crashes in New Orleans.
The most recent happened on I-10 near I-510 just before 6 a.m. Sunday. Investigators say a woman was walking in the area when an SUV hit her. She died at the scene.
New Orleans police tell WDSU that the driver of the SUV remained at the scene.
As a result of the crash, I-10 was shut down for about an hour. It has since reopened.
The other deadly collision happened in Algiers around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
The NOPD reports that a car was turning from General Meyer Avenue onto Shirley Drive when it struck a motorcyclist. An ambulance rushed the man on the motorcycle to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the man stayed at the scene.
Right now, the names of both victims have not been released.
