The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a murder suicide that happened at an apartment complex in New Orleans East.
According to the NOPD, officers were called to the 14700 block of Chef Menteur Highway around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
When officers arrived, they found a man and woman dead from gunshot wounds inside an apartment.
Homicide detectives ruled that their deaths were a murder-suicide.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identity the victims once the families are notified, and confirm the exact causes of death once the autopsies are completed.
