A person died after a shooting that followed a pursuit with a Terrebonne Parish sheriff’s deputy in Houma Thursday morning, Louisiana State Police said.
State police detectives were asked by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate. The shooting happened just before 11 a.m. on Louisiana Highway 24 near Henderson Street.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene. No deputies were injured.
Detectives are processing the scene and gathering information. State police said the investigation is in its early stages and more details will be released as they become available.
