A North Louisiana police chief and a former assistant chief have been arrested and accused of stealing money meant for the family of a fallen officer.
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill said Mangham Police Chief Perry Fleming is accused of opening a beneficiary account in the name of a former officer who was killed in the line of duty.
Fleming is accused of collecting more than $6,000 intended for the officer’s family, and using the money for personal travel.
Former Assistant Police Chief Dakota McKinney is accused of helping Fleming destroy public records.
