RTA riders can take buses, streetcars and ferries for free on Saturday, Oct. 24, for early voting and Tuesday, Nov. 3, on Election Day.
Riders do not need to show voter registration or identification to use the free service. They can simply board and ride, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority said.
“Access to transportation should never stand in the way of participation in our democratic process,” RTA Interim CEO Ronald Baptiste Jr. said. He said the free service is meant to help remove transportation as a barrier to voting.
Riders can use the Le Pass app to plan trips and track rides in real time. For route information or trip-planning help, visit norta.com, download the app or call Rideline at 504-248-3900.
