After starting the 2026 NFL season a disappointing 1-4, New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson had harsh words for those leading her football team.
Speaking at the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club Luncheon, Benson said she the poor start has “truly disappointed me.”
“Kellen Moore and his coaches are responsible for preparing our players to perform, Mickey Loomis and our football staff are responsible for building a roster capable of sustained success. The players are responsible for their preparation and execution. I am responsible for holding this organization accountable,” Benson said.
“I will not make excuses and I will not accept this level of performance as our standard,” added Benson.
“I am committed to making the decisions necessary to improving this team. Everyone in this organization understands the urgency. We must prepare better, execute consistently and correct mistakes that are costing us the games,” said Benson.
The Saints play at the New York Giants this Sunday and then travel to France to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first ever NFL game in Paris.
