Two pedestrians were injured in a hit-and-run crash just after 6:00 Tuesday night on Gause Boulevard in Slidell, according to Louisiana State Police.
Public information officer Marc Gremillion said the driver fled the scene after hitting the two individuals, and the vehicle involved has not yet been identified.
Gremillion said the pedestrians were taken to a hospital for treatment, and their injuries are not life-threatening.
A man at the scene, who did not want to speak on camera, said the victims were two friends who are part of a group that regularly goes on runs together.
The man said the victims were conscious when they were taken to the hospital. He told WDSU he never imagined something like this happening during one of their runs.
