Community members joined the New Orleans Police Department and social workers this week at Morris F.X. Jeff Sr. Park to honor lives lost to homicides.
The NOPD held a remembrance walk to honor those who died from violence.
The family of Jezreel Poleate, who was killed in 2024 in a mass shooting outside a nightclub, also participated in the event.
The remembrance walk was held in observance of the National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims, which has been observed annually since it was designated by Congress in 2007.
