An LSU basketball legend has died.
Bob Pettit died at the age of 93 on Wednesday, according to a statement issued by LSU.
Pettit was a Baton Rouge native who starred at LSU from 1951 to 1954.
He helped lead LSU to back-to-back SEC championships in 1953 and 1954.
He led LSU in scoring in all three of his seasons with the Tigers.
Pettit was the second overall pick by the Milwaukee Hawks in 1954.
Pettit was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1970.
He was also a two-time NBA MVP, an 11-time NBA All-Star, 10-time all-NBA-first-team player, NBA Rookie of the Year, and an NBA champion.
There is no word on funeral services or any tributes at LSU at this time.
