Tropical Storm Fay has formed in the northern Atlantic Ocean, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Fay formed early Sunday, and the National Hurricane Center says it poses no threat to land.
According to NHC, Tropical Storm Fay is moving toward the northeast near 3 miles per hour and is expected to continue moving throughout the day, then turn to the southwest on Monday.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 60 mph, with higher gusts.
Tropical Storm Fay could strengthen and approach hurricane intensity Sunday night before gradually weakening on Monday.
