High pressure is keeping the weather dry. The air is still a bit less muggy, and northeast winds will blow at 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight stays clear with light winds. Lows will range from 69 to 77 degrees.
Saturday brings more sunshine and heat. Highs will climb to 92 to 95 degrees. Most outdoor plans should stay dry.
Sunday also looks mostly dry, with a high near 93 in New Orleans. A few showers or storms may return late in the day or at night.
Next week, more moisture moves back into the area. Showers and storms are possible Monday through Wednesday, mainly in the afternoon.
Some storms could bring brief heavy rain, but widespread rain is not expected. The timing and number of storms are still uncertain.
Highs next week stay in the low to mid-90s. With more moisture in the air, it could feel like 100 to 105 degrees.
