Hynes-LSU New Orleans and Ben Franklin High School were on lockdown Monday afternoon due to an attempted armed robbery in the area.
New Orleans police say the incident occurred in the 6100 block of Elysian Fields Avenue just before 1:10 p.m.
The suspect was arrested nearby around 1:30 p.m.
No other information has been provided at this time.
The schools were placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution.
