Residents in New Orleans East are expressing frustration over a water leak that has been ongoing for about a year, with local activist Sage Pellet calling for urgent action.
“The leak is obvious, SWB have come out, the thing is to prioritize, and if we can’t prioritize, we’re just talking,” Pellet said.
Pellet claims he has been in contact with the Sewerage and Water Board, but he says the leak is causing issues at Alcee Fortier and Dwyer.
The Sewerage and Water Board discussed the matter during a joint governmental meeting last week.
“Alcee Fortier and Dwyer, we did get a leak detection out there, this location of the leak in wooded and overgrown area, we’ll be assigning to the appropriate team,” the Sewerage and Water Board said.
In a statement, the Sewerage and Water Board said repairs are expected to be completed within two weeks
