A Loranger woman has been arrested in connection with a man’s overdose in August.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Loretta Schroder, 28, of Loranger, on one count of failure to render aid.
Detectives say on Aug. 30, they began investigating the death of Jaycen Morris, 42, who was found dead in his front yard.
A preliminary autopsy from the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office indicated that Morris’ death was the result of an overdose.
Detectives learned that Morris had been with Schroder when he began overdosing and, instead of seeking assistance or alerting anyone to his medical emergency, she drove to his home, left him unconscious in his front yard, and drove away.
A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she was taken into custody on Saturday, Sept. 12.
