The woman behind an iconic Bourbon Street bar and Hand Grenade cocktail has died at 80.
Tropical Isle posted on Facebook that Pam Fortner died Tuesday after a decades-long career in hospitality.
In an emotional Facebook post, Tropical Isle writes: “Pam truly loved running her bars, greeting customers from every corner of the globe. Outside of her business, she was an avid dog lover who cherished her many pets over the years, and she had a passion for travel.”
Fortner partnered with Earl Bernhardt in 1984, Tropical Isle says.
Funeral and memorial service arrangements are pending.
