Drew Brees and his family will find themselves in an unusual position in New Orleans this week. They will be on the opponent’s sideline as Santa Fe Christian, of Solana Beach, California, takes on Newman High School in a football game Thursday night.
Drew’s oldest son, Baylen, is a senior and plays wide receiver. Bowen is a sophomore, and Callen is a freshman. All three of them play football, as Drew Brees is on the coaching staff.
It’s a homecoming of sorts for the family, as the Brees boys attended Newman during the football seasons when their father played quarterback for the Saints. Drew Brees posted on Instagram reflecting on ties to the Newman program and New Orleans overall.
He said in a caption:
“Excited to watch the SFC Eagles take on Newman High School in New Orleans tomorrow night. There will be at least six boys from these pictures on the field that night on both sides. So many incredible memories coaching them through their early years. Love how Football builds character and strengthens & develops relationships.”
Both teams are undefeated. The game is Thursday night at 7 p.m.
