LSU has not added tight end Dae’Quan Wright and defensive lineman Zxavian Harris to the roster ahead of Saturday night’s season opener against Clemson in Tiger Stadium, according to ESPN.
They could potentially be added later in the year, as both are enrolled in school.
The Tigers have 103 players on the roster submitted, and that leaves them two spots.
This comes after a Baton Rouge court ruled in favor of players who tried to go pro but then chose to exercise their fifth year option in college.
The 19th Judicial District Court heard the Jack Pyburn, et al. v. National Collegiate Athletic Association in Baton Rouge Thursday, siding with athletes and paving the way for Kiffin to finalize his roster with Harris and Wright.
East Baton Rouge Parish Judge William Jorden barred the SEC from imposing consequences on LSU over eligibility.
The SEC issued a statement saying it did not support the court’s ruling, and is suing LSU, Kiffin and Athletic Director Verge Ausberry over allegations of recruiting pro players to return to college.
The lawsuit argues that this violates its rule that athletes who turn professional cannot return to college football.
LSU recently voted in favor of confirming that rule, but the SEC says they continued to recruit professional players anyway.
The SEC says LSU is breaking a rule it previously supported, damaging the conference, and forcing other SEC schools to be associated with conduct they unanimously oppose.
The SEC is asking a court to declare that the conference can distance itself from LSU’s alleged conduct in connection with the recruitment of pro-athletes, and protect the conference of any legal ramifications tied to LSU’s actions without fear of retaliation.
