New Orleans Verizon customers may see unfamiliar 911 callback number due to phone issue

The New Orleans 911 Operations Center is receiving emergency calls, and Verizon customers may get a callback from an unfamiliar number.

Verizon customers who call 911 may receive an inbound call from 911 from an unfamiliar number due to a phone company issue.

There is no issue with reaching 911; the only issue is if 911 needs to call you back, the caller ID may not display the usual Orleans Parish Communication District phone number.
