A British far-right political commentator and executive tied to rapper Kanye West has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in New Orleans.
According to an ICE spokesperson, the agency detained Milo Yiannopoulos on Friday at the Louis Armstrong International Airport.
An ICE statement said Yiannopoulos legally entered the country on May 14, 2019, through New York City, New York.
He is accused of overstaying his visa.
According to a statement issued by ICE< Yiannopoulos was issued a final order of removal by an Immigration Judge on July 22, after failing to show up for his immigration hearing.
He will remain in ICE custody pending removal.
West is in New Orleans and is expected to perform a concert at the Superdome Friday night.
The tour has been met with opposition because of West’s controversial statements.
