Look up tonight, Gulf Coast! A deep partial lunar eclipse begins at 9:34 p.m. CT, when Earth’s dark central shadow starts taking a noticeable “bite” out of the full Moon.
The darkness will spread across the lunar surface, leaving only a thin portion brightly lit. Near the 11:13 p.m. peak, 96.3% of the Moon’s disk will be shadowed and may glow coppery red!
The key? Mid-high level cloud cover could obscure viewing a bit tonight. Fingers crossed that the cloud deck breaks up before the peak. Please tag me in your pictures tonight!
