LSUPD was notified of the threatening social media post and identified and apprehended the individual believed to be responsible.
According to LSUPD, officers identified the internet protocol address associated with the post to locate the suspect.
There is no longer an active or credible threat to the campus community.
Many LSU fans, including Governor Jeff Landry and First Lady Sharon Landry, were attending the memorial service for legendary LSU baseball Coach Skip Bertman at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on LSU’s campus.
The service was uninterrupted and ended without incident.
Members of the campus community are encouraged to remain vigilant and immediately report suspicious activity to LSUPD at 225-578-3231 or by calling 911 in an emergency.
