New Orleans and state leaders came together Monday to announce events planned to commemorate 21 years since Hurricane Katrina made landfall.
The storm was a moment that forever changed southeast Louisiana.
To honor the lives lost and the communities destroyed, a march, second line, and rally will take place in New Orleans this Saturday, beginning in the Lower 9th Ward at the site of the historic levee breach.
State leaders said the event not only honors everything lost but also highlights how the community rebuilt in the aftermath.
