Thousands of Entergy customers remained without power Saturday across several parishes in the region following Friday’s storms.

Customers in several Orleans Parish neighborhoods, where about 1,000 are still in the dark as of 4 p.m., Saturday, contacted WDSU about prolonged outages.
WDSU News reached out to Entergy New Orleans about the cause of the outages. The utility issued the following statement:
“Entergy New Orleans crews continue to work as quickly and safely as possible to restore service to customers impacted by the severe weather that moved through the area last night. In some cases, extensive tree damage has prolonged restoration efforts. We will continue to keep customers updated via their chosen methods of contact.”
