The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is investigating a deadly boating accident in St. James Parish.
The accident happened on July 25 in Brazan Canal in Vacherie.
The accident killed Austin R. McKee, 32, of Vacherie.
According to the agency, McKee’s body was found after his boat was involved in a single-boat crash around 10 p.m.
McKee’s boat left the water and struck a tree.
The LDWF Enforcement Division will be the leading investigative agency for this fatal boating incident. McKee’s body was recovered from the scene and turned over to the St. James Parish Coroner’s Office to determine an official cause of death.
