A 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with a string of robberies targeting DoorDash drivers in the Lakeshore Villages area near Slidell, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say the teen placed DoorDash orders to homes in and around the neighborhood without paying in advance. When drivers arrived with the food, deputies say he confronted them, took the orders by force and ran away.
Detectives with the sheriff’s office’s Persons Crimes Unit, working with patrol deputies, identified the 16-year-old as the suspect during their investigation.
Authorities said he was arrested early Sunday morning after another DoorDash driver was robbed while delivering a pizza order in the same area late Saturday night.
The teen was booked on three counts of simple robbery, one count of first-degree robbery and one count of attempted simple robbery.
