X Games, culinary competitions, music and more on tap for weekend events across New Orleans

Extreme sports, classical music, and some of the best chefs and restaurneters in the world will dominate events across New Orleans this weekend.

Here are five things you can do across New Orleans this weekend.

X Games Championship:

New Orleans is hosting its first-ever X Games Championship event this weekend.

The three-day event will feature music, skate, BMX, and Moto X competitions with more than 100 athletes.

The event will be July 24 through July 26 at the Caesars Superdome.

The X Games is out to show there are riskier moves in action sports than flying upside down above a halfpipe.

The name that put action sports on the map, then turned it into big business that eventually landed in the Olympics with its risk-taking, counterculture vibe, will debut its multimillion-dollar reboot with nothing less than the future of one of the sports industry’s best-recognized brands at stake.

Christmas in July – Old Algiers Small Business Crawl

The Christmas in July small business crawl is this weekend in Old Algiers.

The event will be on Saturday, July 25.

Those who participate can pick up a card at any participating business and get at least 8 stamps from merchants for a chance to win a basket of gift cards and more. Those who participate can turn their card into the last merchant they visit for a chance to win.

The events help support small businesses in Old Algiers during what is normally the summer slump.

Tales of the Cocktail:

This weekend will wrap up the Tales of the Cocktail celebration across New Orleans.

Organized by the nonprofit Tales of the Cocktail Foundation, this global cocktail conference aims to educate, advance, and support cocktail professionals and enthusiasts alike, according to New Orleans & Company.

The celebration is held citywide, but many events are held at the Ritz-Carlton.

Cocktail tastings, workshops, seminars, and competitions will be held throughout the weekend.

Pastry World Cup and Bocuse d’Or

One of the most prestigious cooking competitions is returning to New Orleans this weekend.

The Pastry World Cup and Bocuse d’Or will return to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center July 25-26.

This comes after the competition debuted in New Orleans in 2024.

According to New Orleans and Company, the Bocuse d’Or and Pastry World Cup will be held in conjunction with the Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA) Showcase, the largest restaurant and hospitality industry tradeshow in the U.S. Gulf Region.
