The New Orleans Police Department is investigating after a woman is accused of stabbing a child in the Seventh Ward.
According to police, on Thursday, officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of AP Tureaud Avenue after reports of a stabbing.
Police say a woman told children to go outside while she entertained a guest.
The children refused to go outside due to the heat.
Police say that’s when the woman got a knife and stabbed one of the children.
The woman was taken into custody and is facing a charge of aggravated battery by cutting.
No information is available on the status of the child stabbed.
