The New Orleans Recreation Department is celebrating the opening of a new splash pad.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at Cut-Off Recreation Center where the new splash pad opened just ahead of the last week of summer break before most New Orleans areas students go back to school.
This new splash pad comes as some pools and recreation centers were closed for maintenance for the remainder of the summer, as well as the agency’s search for a new Chief Executive Officer.
Back in June, former CEO Larry Barabino announced his resignation to spend more time with family.

NORD has opened the application period in search of a new Chief Executive Officer. Following a request for proposals for qualified firms, the NORD Foundation has selected AMCorp International to assist in the executive search. Interested candidates may view the full job description and submission requirements at nordc.org/about-us/jobs.
Applications will be accepted through August 10, 2026.
