New Orleans native Lil Wayne is being recognized alongside entertainment icons. He is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as part of the Class of 2027.
Often dubbed by locals “The Greatest Rapper Alive,” Lil Wayne has continually represented the Hollygrove neighborhood on his songs and in interviews.
Lil Wayne won his first Grammy Awards in 2009 at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards. He won four awards that night, including Best Rap Album for Tha Carter III and Best Rap Song for “Lollipop”. He has felt the hometown love in recent years. In 2024, he was honored with keys to the city during Lil Weezyana Fest. Last year, New Orleans kicked off its own version of the Walk of Fame on Canal Street, and Lil Wayne was among the first inductees.
The 2027 Hollywood Walk of Fame class has 32 new inductees, including Keke Palmer, The Ramones, Idris Elba, Linkin Park, Pedro Pascal and several other names from across the entertainment industry. Dates have not yet been scheduled for star ceremonies.
