Loved ones and employees at Angelo Brocato’s are mourning one of the current owners and the namesake of the long-serving gelato and pastry parlor in Mid City.
Angelo “Bubba” Brocato III passed away at the age of 85. He was the third-generation owner of the ice cream shop alongside his brother Arthur. The shop is known for its Italian – Sicilian pastries. Their timeless traditional favorites are handed down from generation to generation. The shop is iconic and was named a finalist for a James Beard award in 2023 in the outstanding bakery category.
