The Jefferson Parish Eastbank Consolidated Fire Departments are investigating reports of a barge fire on the Mississippi River near the Huey P. Long Bridge.
When crews arrived at the levee, they observed what appeared to be a barge fire in the middle of the river and two boats applying water to the fire.
The fire department crews from land were not able to access the fire.
No other information has been provided at this time.
