A Montegut man has been arrested and accused of raping a child.
Chase Nauqin is facing a charge of first-degree rape after an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a child under the age of 12, according to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives with the Special Victims Unit began investigating the allegations in June.
With assistance from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office in Texas, authorities found Naquin and arrested him on a warrant for first-degree rape.
Naquin was transferred back to Terrebonne Parish this week, where he remains in jail on a $200,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
