Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting that left woman injured in Metairie

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday morning.

A woman was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital, where she later died, according to the Jefferson Parish Coroner.

Deputies say they responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 6200 block of Riverside Drive around 8:30 a.m.

No other information has been provided at this time.
