Kenner reopens roads after Atmos crews stop gas leak

Kenner police say the 1000 block of Minden Avenue was closed after a vehicle struck a natural gas meter, causing a major gas leak. Atmos crews have stopped the gas leak and are on scene repairing the damage.

Residents are now being allowed back into their homes, and the road is open.

The impact severely damaged the meter, prompting the Kenner Police and Fire Department to evacuate the immediate area out of an abundance of caution.

There are no reported injuries.
