Origen Bistro in the Bywater is leaning on the community’s support to help raise money for people in need in Venezuela.
In late June, two major Earthquakes hit the country and claimed the lives of more than 3,000 people. Reports show thousands are now without a home while authorities continue to search for more people. U.S. military personnel have been deployed to support rescue and relief efforts.
Origen Bistro is collecting donations in order to feed 1,000 people in Venezuela. Community organizers urge anyone looking to help to donate here.
On Monday, the Hispanic Apostle will dedicate a prayer service to victims. The service takes place at 2525 Maine Ave. in Metairie at 6 p.m.
