The Smoothie King Center allowed birds from the Audubon Zoo and their handlers to practice flight inside the arena.
Audubon Zoo posted on Facebook, thanking the arena for its training ground.
Video shows several handlers with a turkey vulture, a Eurasian eagle owl and a hawk.
The zoo explained why the birds were flying free: “Free flight doesn’t happen overnight – it’s built on trust, training, and extensive preparation. Exposing them to new spaces is a critical step in building confidence for both the birds and our team.”
