Two people arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in Grand Isle earlier this year have entered pleas in the case.
Both Wallace Ledet Jr., 18, of Grand Isle, and Jordan Charles Morvant, 20, of Thibodaux entered not guilty pleas in connection with the deadly shooting of Drevon Mixon.
The shooting happened on April 21 at an RV park in Grand Isle.
According to Sheriff Joseph Lopinto, Ledet and Mixon attempted to rob a group of people the night of the deadly shooting.
During the attempted armed robbery, Mixon was shot and killed by one of the people whom he and Ledet were trying to rob, according to Lopinto.
Lopinto said three people went to the RV park to purchase drugs when the shooting happened.
Morvant and Ledet’s next court date is July 1 at 9 a.m.
