A Hammond church is teaming up with a gospel music group to support nonprofits that serve people with disabilities.
Pastor Lamont Jackson, of A New Beginning Ministries in Hammond, partnered with Enon Music Group during its “I Still Believe Tour” to provide a financial donation to a selected nonprofit.
Several nonprofits submitted information for consideration. The organizations serve people with disabilities, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and other impairments.
OPTIONS Inc. was selected as the first recipient.
The Hammond-based nonprofit provides programs, job training and support services that help people with disabilities build independence and take part in their communities.
OPTIONS Inc. has served the region for more than 50 years. The organization offers enrichment, housing and employment opportunities while promoting inclusion and quality of life.
A New Beginning Ministries described the effort as part of its mission to bring hope during difficult times and show that charity, hope and unity remain important parts of the Hammond community.
