The United State Men’s National Team took care of Australia 2-0 in Group D play Friday afternoon.
Fans of both teams enjoyed the game in New Orleans at multiple bars and restaurants.
Fans of the Socceroos took over the popular Australian bar Vic’s Kangaroo Cafe for a great time.
“Aussie fans are good, they try to follow their teams anywhere and this is a long way from Australia,” Vic’s Kangaroo Cafe owner Vic Norman said.
Vic’s had close to 100 people in the bar enjoying great food, drinks, friendships and the match.
“The Americans are actually pretty good about it, they take us in, have a few beers with us, take our shenanigans the right way, and man we have a good time,” James Hope said.
Popular soccer bar Finn McCool’s Irish Pub was packed with USMNT fans.
It was hard to find a spot inside or outside of Finn McCool’s.
“Every time the World Cup’s here this is the place I choose, it’s just a good time, and it’s a good time with friends,” Alyssa Hernandez said.
There was so much energy at Finn McCool’s for the match.
One fan screamed, “It’s my first time in America, I love the USA soccer.”
With their 2-0 win over Australia paired with Paraguay’s win over Türkiye, the USMNT won Group D.
USA will face Türkiye Thursday in its final Group stage match.
