A Flood Watch has been issued for all of Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi through Friday morning as a stalled front and a tropical disturbance will bring in heavy rain.
While the chances of a tropical depression forming are low in the next couple of days, we are still expecting a heavy rain threat for our area.
Here’s a parish-by-parish breakdown of possible rain totals expected this week:
New Orleans Metro:
- Flood Watch in effect until 7 a.m. Friday
- 2-5 inches possible
- Numerous showers & storms
Northshore:
- Flood Watch in effect until 7 a.m. Friday
- 3-6 inches, locally higher amounts possible
- Numerous showers & storms
Bayou Parishes:
- Flood Watch in effect until 7 a.m. Friday
- Rainfall: 1.5-2.5 inches possible
- Scattered downpours, heavy at times
River Parishes:
- Flood Watch in effect until 7 a.m. Friday
- 2-4 inches of rainfall expected
- Heavy downpours at times
Coastal Parishes:
- No Flood Watch
- Isolated showers and storms
- Up to an inch and a half possible
