Heads up! Friday through Sunday are WDSU First Warning Weather Impact Days as a surge of tropical moisture in the Gulf increases rain chances with a localized flash flood risk and coastal flood concerns.
After a breezy and briefly drier day Thursday, rain chances in southeast Louisiana and south Mississippi will increase Friday-Saturday.
While many locations will see manageable 1-2″ rain amount, isolated hot spots of 6+ inches possible. Watch for isolated localized flash flood concerns, especially if any storms move slowly or train over the same areas.
Breezy, windy conditions will contribute to minor coastal flooding through Friday. Tides 1-2 feet above normal.
A big heads up for those traveling to the Florida and Alabama Beaches late week/weekend. Double red flags are flying due to a high rip current risk and very rough surf.
Rain chances look to decrease a bit by Sunday with drier conditions by Monday-Wednesday of next week.
