The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is responding to a murder-attempted suicide in Elmwood, Thursday, sources tell WDSU.
The murder happened at an apartment complex in Elmwood in the 5100 block of Citrus Boulevard around 10 a.m.
A female victim was found dead inside an apartment from a gunshot wound.
The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office has identified the woman as Meridian Woodson, 28.
The attempted suicide was reported in a parking lot in a nearby shopping center, according to JPSO.
A man was found inside a car from a self-inflicting gunshot wound. The man is being treated at an area hospital and is critical, according to JPSO.
JPSO has responded to both scenes as part of the investigation.
