Rain, Rain, Go Away! The timing will be difficult to pinpoint in this pattern, but the weather remains unsettled over the next 5 days with localized heavy rain and flash flooding likely.
Monday through Friday of this upcoming week are WDSU First Warning Weather Impact Days with the potential of heavy rain and street flooding.
Memorial Day is looking quite soggy again across southeast Louisiana and south Mississippi, especially in the morning to early afternoon hours. With the ground quite saturated, watch for street flooding.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 7PM Monday. It’s possible that this watch gets extended or a new watch is issued due to a continued localized heavy rainfall risk through Friday.
Some days will see more rain than others, and each day won’t be a complete washout. Widespread 2-4+ inches of rain with hot spots of 6+ over the next week.
The stormy pattern may finally start to break by the end of the week into next weekend, but the details are still being ironed out about when we may finally get a chance to dry out! Stay tuned.
