The New Orleans Saints will be playing the first ever NFL game in France this fall when the Black & Gold take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Paris on Sunday, October 25th.
A Francophile who’s done extensive charity work in both New Orleans and Paris, Saints and Pelicans owner Gayle Benson will also be bringing her NBA team to the City of Light to play regular season games.
A report from Jake Fischer say the Pelicans will take on the San Antonio Spurs in Paris in January 2027. Spurs superstar Victor Wembamyama is from France so the games will draw worldwide attention.
The Pelicans are currently searching for a new head coach and the report from Fischer and his partner Marc Stein says the Pels have taken longer than expected because they are fully evaluating and considering recently fired Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley.
Mosley is one of five candidates that’s been interviewed for the job. The others include Darvin Ham, Rajon Rondo, Steve Hetzel and James Borrego. A decision is expected early this week.
Back to the Saints. The team’s game in Paris features and early kickoff. New Orleans and Pittsburgh will start at 8:30 a.m. CST.
The Saints have played three games internationally since 2008. All of those games (2008, 2017, 2022) have been played in London.
