Legendary Saints quarterback Drew Brees is celebrating a big honor from his alma mater. He received an honorary doctorate from Purdue’s Daniels School of Business.
Brees is one of the most accomplished players in Purdue football history and came back to West Lafayette for the special ceremony Saturday, May 16, 2026.
While he is best known for his achievements on the field, the honor also reflected his leadership, influence and the way he has represented Purdue throughout his career.
Before walking on stage, a long list of Brees’ accomplishments was read during the ceremony. It included breaking several NFL records, bringing a Super Bowl to New Orleans, and his and his wife Brittany’s philanthropic work.
