Mother’s Day will unfortunately feature another chance of showers and thunderstorms later in the day, but it does not look to be as widespread and stormy as it did on Saturday.
What is the timing of rain and storms?
Showers and storms look to develop during the late afternoon and end during the early evening, with the main timing between 5pm-8pm, as shown on our hi-resolution model.
Will there be any severe weather?
It’s possible that some of the storms could turn strong to severe.
A level 1 marginal risk of severe weather is in effect for all of southeast Louisiana and south Mississippi.
The main threat is damaging winds, but even that threat is low.
Looking ahead to next week
Showers and storms will develop on Monday as a cold front moves into southeast Louisiana.
Weather impact days will be up Sunday and Monday for the threat of strong to severe storms possible. Will see drier and sunnier conditions Tuesday-Saturday as high pressure builds in with high temperatures in the low to mid 80s.
