WDSU announced Scot Pilié as its new Chief Meteorologist on Monday.
Pilié will lead the WDSU First Warning Weather team, guiding coverage across all platforms and continuing the station’s commitment to keeping Southeast Louisiana prepared and informed.
Prior to WDSU, Pilié worked at multiple stations across Louisiana and at The Weather Channel, gaining experience in both local and national forecasting.
Before his professional career, Pilié’s calling to weather was a lifelong dream that all started at WDSU.
The Jesuit graduate interned under WDSU Chief Meteorologist Emeritus Margaret Orr back in 2014.
“When Scot interned with me, I knew he’d do great things,” said Orr.
Orr said she met Pilié’s grandmother in a coffee shop, who shared with her his love for meteorology.
Pilié brought his resume to WDSU and got on the phone with Orr. The rest was history.
Pilié said he learned so much from Margaret over the two summers he interned for her, and says those lessons still stay with him to this day.
“I’m excited to join the best team in the market, where I had my first internship with Margaret Orr in 2014. It feels like a full-circle moment. I truly believe New Orleans is the best city in the world, and I’m proud to work alongside this team,” Pilié said.
You can watch WDSU First Warning Weather Chief Meteorologist Scot Pilié weekdays on WDSU News at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
