It was a rainy day at Jazz Fest, but that didn’t stop major performances from The Black Keys and Lainey Wilson.
Most of the last performances Thursday were cancelled following a shortened performance schedule announced earlier in the day.
Festival organizers announced that the Friday performance schedule had changed due to weather.
Lainey Wilson, The Black Keys and Ziggy Marley all performed in the pouring rain around 3 p.m.
The festival ended at 4:30 p.m. as rain continued to pour.
Jazz Fest continues Saturday and concludes its second weekend on Sunday.

If you’re heading out to Jazz Fest today, heads up! It will be very rainy, similar to Thursday! Heavy downpours and a lot of lightning is expected. This will impact plans today.
Timing:
- Noon: isolated storms arrive on the coast and move inland.
- 2 p.m.-8 p.m. : storms arrive in New Orleans and will continue to cover the metro and Northshore on and off, heavy at times.
- 8 p.m. – midnight: scattered showers and storms continue
- Midnight to 3 a.m. : main line of storms moves across the entire area from the west
- 3 a.m.-9 a.m. : lingering showers moving out
Rain will come to an end for Saturday morning. Temperatures will be cooler in the 60s and low 70s. Wind gusts will be up to 25 mph.
For Sunday, expect sunny conditions! It will still be cooler or below average with temperatures in the 60s and mid 70s.
