The town of Abita Springs is under a boil water advisory due to a water main break.
The town says the water main break has been successfully repaired, and crews are now working to restore normal service, but it will take several hours for water pressure to fully return throughout the system.
Residents should boil all water for at least 1 minute before drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth, and avoid using unboiled tap water for consumption.
Water may be used for bathing with caution.
This is a town-wide precautionary advisory. Residents who currently have water, or once service is restored, please continue to boil water before consumption.
This advisory will remain in effect until bacteriological sample results confirm that the water is safe to drink.
Results are typically available within approximately 24 hours once received by the lab.
Visit the Town of Abita Springs website for more information and updates.
