Three people have been arrested, and 16 dogs rescued, after a search warrant was executed at a residence in Covington.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip indicating a wanted subject was believed to be at a residence in the 79000 block of Barker Road in Covington.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant, and the homeowner, Clinton Hathcox, and two residents, Christin Hanson and Anastasia Hathcox, were all arrested.
At the residence, they located and seized six firearms, along with a small amount of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and hydrocodone.
Detectives also say they found 16 severely malnourished dogs, ranging in age from puppies to adults, on the property.
All of the animals were removed and turned over to the St. Tammany Parish Animal Services for care and evaluations.
They are all facing multiple charges, including possession of schedule II CDS (methamphetamine), possession of schedule II CDS (hydrocodone), possession of legend drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and more.
Clinton Hathcox is a convicted felon and was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, failure to appear, contempt of court, and cruelty to animals.
This is an ongoing investigation.
